The Edda Fides was the first floating hotel (flotel) and service vessel in the world to be built exclusively for the offshore oil and gas industry. A mono-hull ship, it can provide accomodation and transfers between the ship and an installation, for over 600 personnel.
AMOG Provided a Safety Case for the Edda Fides in 2012 when the ship was first used in Australia for a platform in Bass Strait and, on the basis of this work, was again commissioned to assist with an updated Safety Case for the vessel in 2016.
The updated Safety Case involved AMOG reviewing existing documentation, identifying areas where statutory or lend client requirements had changed, expanding the documentation to address the changed requirements, and liaising with the Commonwealth Statutory Agency NOPSEMA.
AMOG will continue to work supporting the Edda Fides, as the client's project approaches the production phase.
