  • Chief Financial Officer - AMOG Group of Companies (Melbourne) (Full-Time)

    We are seeking a motivated and commercially attuned Chief Financial Officer who can work with the executive to manage the financial and compliance demands of the Group. The Company operates several subsidiaries within its Group structure and participates in joint ventures with third parties.  From time to time the Company pursues growth through mergers and acquisitions.

    This full-time position is located at our Head Office in Melbourne and reports to the CEO. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team with a focus on technical excellence and will need to demonstrate intelligence in executing their financial responsibilities.

    The position is hands on as the CFO must work closely with the executive team on financial matters in its operations in Australia, Europe and the Americas, but must also have the ability to deal with micro-accounting processes and toolsets as needed. The CFO will be responsible for the supervision of the accounting function with a small accounting team in head office and administration personnel in the international offices (limited international travel).

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Managing the financial function to provide monthly management accounts for a rigorous Board schedule. The financial reports will include financial results, variance analysis, key business drivers, and detail movements in working capital.
    • Providing accurate and timely cashflow forecasts.
    • Responsibility for ensuring the group budgetary cycles are completed for timely Board approval.
    • Collaboration with the business units in the financial management of global operations.
    • Proactively managing the tax planning of the consolidated group including the compliance and lodgement of R&D programs to ensure appropriate returns to the business.
    • Managing the needs and movement of corporate funds between entities, with regard to international regulations and overall tax effectiveness.
    • Responsibility for the banking arrangements in the business, within a defined delegations framework.
    • Providing leadership to facilitate the external audit of the consolidated group and to ensuriing the financial policies, procedures and reporting are current for the global business.
    • Establishing robust internal audit controls.
    • Working with executives on insurance and payroll matters.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • An outstanding track-record operating successfully in a senior financial capacity with at least 8+ years work experience, including supervisory experience (preferably in the consulting or service industry; resource sector experience would be favourable).
    • Relevant university business degree/s ideally with post-graduate training and a commitment to continuous professional development.
    • Registered CPA or CA qualifications.
    • An ability to prioritise the financial work schedule to meet reporting deadlines.
    • A rigourous approach to the resolution of commercial issues.
    • High ethical standards and an honest approach to all aspects of business.
    • Willingness to collaborate in a robust and collegiate work environment that focuses on achieving best business outcomes.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver coherent, precise and insightful presentations, Board papers and external communications. Must also be able to manage and accept questions on reports and papers, from peers and Board members.
    • Experience managing the financial aspects of IP development and R&D programs.
    • A high degree of computer literacy (PC and Mac), advanced excel, and hands-on working knowledge of basic industry accounting packages.
