  • Software Assurance Engineer (Full-Time)

    AMOG is is looking for an engineer with experience in software safety and software assurance. The successful applicant would provide software assurance, software safety engineering and independent software safety assessment services for complex safety critical applications across a number of industries including transport, mining, and Defence.

    This role is currently Melbourne-based, though AMOG has offices in Adelaide and Perth and these locations could be considered for the right applicant. Depending on project requirements, interstate (and possibly international) travel may be required.

    The successful applicant will posses:

    - A tertiary qualification in software engineering (post-graduate qualifications would be highly regarded particularly of an assurance nature)
    - A minimum of five years post-graduate experience in software or systems engineering environment
    - At least three years spent in a software assurance role, or a high-integrity software development role
    - Practitioner level knowledge of one or more of the following standards: IEC 61508-3, EN50128, or RTCA DO-178B/C
    - An understanding of Safety PLC's and/or micro-controller based architectures used in safety critical environments is highly desirable
    - Capability to independently lead software assurance workshops and conduct software assurance assessments to one of the standards defined above
    - Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present to large and varied audiences.
    - Full working rights in Australia

    A current Australian Defence security clearance, while not essential, would be an advantage.

  • IT Assistant Infrastructure Services / IT Support / IT Helpdesk (Full-Time)

    We are expanding our IT Services Department and are seeking an experienced (3-4 years) professional to help with infrastructure services, IT support, and IT helpdesk functions.

    Based in our office in Notting Hill, Melbourne, this position will report directly to the IT Services Manager and requires the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

    Mandatory:

    - 3-4 yrs in a similar or related role.
    - Previous management of day-to-day user desktop, laptops, printer software and hardware issues.
    - Ability to provide support to remote users over the phone (small-scale data centre experience would be advantageous).
    - Understanding of basic ITIL processes.
    - Strong English language communication and documentation skills.
    - Ability to manage end user expectations through timely follow up, responsiveness to emergent issues, and prioritisation of immediate tasks.
    - Experience in managing vendor support for troubleshooting.
    - Well developed skills in an Apple Mac environment, Windows Desktops, Client software management, Desktop Security, Antivirus, Patches, Linux Basics, IT devices trouble shooting, Asset and inventory management, Generic office productivity software, and Managing backup operation on tape based backup devices with Veritas Backup Exec and Bacula.
    - Full working rights in Australia

    The successful applicant may also have conceptual and operator level working experience with Windows Server, ADS, Linux Basics, OSX Server, LAN, WAN, VPN, VMWare, NFS, Samba, File and Print Share, AWS basics, Office 365.

    The following skills and expereince are also desirable:

    - Formal training and/or Certificates in Networking, Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Office 365, AWS, and ITIL.

    - Strong skills and active experience in managing Apple environment, Windows, Linux, AWS, VMware, Goole Suit, NAS-NetApp, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Antivirus, UTM devices, Backup Servers- Symantec (Veritas) Backup Exec and Bacula, System Centre (SCCM), VOIP system, Hosted web environment, and Licensing Server.
    - Experience in providing support for issues escalated from front-end/help-desk IT support (for end point desktop devices mainly comprising Apple Macs, OSX Server, Windows and Linux clients).
