AMOG was engaged by Tenix Defence to conduct a safety assessment of the Ship to Shore (STS) aspects of the Multi- Role Vessel (MRV) and the Landing Craft Medium (LCM) operations. In support of this safety assessment numerous hydrodynamic analyses were conducted to bound vessel motion and structural load inputs for the safety assessment. This included advanced numerical modelling of hydrostatic and hydrodynamic platform interactions. AMOG Consulting employed AQWA, an advanced three dimensional time and frequency domain non-linear potential flow package, for the analysis of the hydrodynamic response of the MRV and LCM.
The purpose of the Project Protector System Safety Program (SSP) was to ensure that the residual level of risk associated with the Project Protector Capability was reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). The Safety Assessment was conducted in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-882 and included analysis performed through the use of Energy and Toxicity Matrices, Fault and Event tree, Layers of Protection Analysis and System Safety Working Groups.
