AMOG undertook the design and analysis of the submarine hose system for a CALM Buoy Terminal off the east coast of Africa. The CALM Buoy terminal was designed for a 25 m water depth, with the twin 20” submarine hoses designed in a Chinese lantern configuration to accommodate the shallow water depth. Both tanker connected and survival disconnected analyses were performed.

A hydraulic umbilical for the operation of the PLEM valves was also installed in a piggyback configuration along one of the hose strings using a variety of clamps. AMOG’s scope included determining a recommended umbilical length, the required spacing between the umbilical clamps and the individual clamp orientation in order to control the umbilical's curvature.
