AMOG was engaged to develop a repair solution for the pitting corrosion damage to a tank pf an on-station FPSO hull. The aim was to reinstate the structural and watertight integrity, sufficient for its remaining planned service life, and with a repair solution that achieved classification society acceptance.
In close consultation with the client and other contractors, AMOG designed a cofferdam to provide a dry environment on the outside of hull and allow for repairs to be completed on station. The scope of work included:
- Review of the hull pitting damage and fatigue life assessments
- Definition of fundamental loads of the hull
- Assessment of practical repair solutions, including methodology, installation methods, and detailed design
- Inputs for installation and removal plans including; educator use, rigging, localisation, surface preparation, leak testing, monitoring and emergency flooding
- HAZID and HAZOP reviews
