World First – Floating Production: West Seno Field Indonesia
When the mooring for Asia’s first deep water hydrocarbon development reached the end of its life earlier than expected, AMOG was engaged to engineer a solution suitable for another 20 years of operation. In a world first, the mooring of an on-stream production facility in deep water was redesigned, upgraded and replaced, without interruption to operations or deferred production.
Working closely with Chevron from concept through to installation, and drawing on AMOG’s skill in finding innovative solutions to complex problems, the project was completed:
- Without reportable injuries,
- On schedule
- Without interruption to production or to a pre-planned tender-drilling campaign on the adjacent TLP
AMOG was awarded an Engineers Australia Award of Excellence for the work on this project.
AMOG’s role included:
- Concept evaluation and selection
- Design of the replacement mooring system
- Installation Planning
- Suction Pile Design
- Achieving of mooring system certification
- Offshore supervision and support
